Catherine Dianne Edington, 70, of Bismarck, passed away on Friday March 16, 2018 in Nevada. She was born on May 18, 1947 in Danville the daughter of Paul and Mildred Hart. On April 20, 1968 Catherine married the love of her life Jim Edington, he survives. Catherine is also survived by her son, David M. Edington, daughter, Kimberly M. Edington, daughter-in-law, Ann R. Edington and grandchildren Lincoln Edington and Colton Edington. Catherine is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joann Faulkner. Catherine was a graduate of Schlarman Academy class of 1965. After high school she attended Eastern Illinois University and University of Illinois before receiving a degree in cytotechnology from the University of Chicago. Once completing college, she started working at St. Elizabeth Hospital, she retired in 2007 after 40 years of service. She was a member of The Daughters of American Revolution and in her spare time enjoyed gardening, fishing, sports, playing cards and collecting antiques. In the winter Catherine loved to visit her children and grandchildren in Arizona and going to family reunion. She also enjoyed traveling and going to fishing camps with her cousins Pam (Mike) Baker and Debbie (Steve) Duerst as well as spending time together with friends from work and high school. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am Thursday March 22, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Visitation will be held from 9am to 11am on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Schlarman Academy.
