Catherina Armeda Dowers

Ridge Farm, Ill. - An Angel ascended from earth into Heaven on September 8th, 2019, when 96 year old Catherina Armeda Dowers went to meet her Lord and Savior.

Catherina was born on April 8, 1923 to Gregor and Clara (Johnson) Vacketta.

She is survived by her sisters, Wilma Cornwell-Schultz and Evelyn Chumas; two sons and their spouses, Reverend Jimmy C. and Veatrice, Leslie W. and Patricia, foster daughter, Loretta and John Rose, and daughter-in-law, Doris; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elza Clifford, brother Ore W. Vacketta, and sons Stephen Lee and Robert Allen.

Funeral services: 1 p.m. EDT Thursday, September 12, 2019 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Jimmy C. Dowers; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 11 a.m. EDT Thursday, September 12, 2019 until time of services. Contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
