Casey Wycoff White, 23, of Champaign died on Thursday, May 29, 2014. He was born September 29, 1990 in Champaign, the son of Stanton and Jacquie (Wycoff) White. They survive. He is also survived by his sister, Hailey (Judd) Gould of Bloomington; maternal grandmother, Violet Wycoff of Gifford, and paternal grandmother, JoEllyn White of Urbana; aunts, Mary (Jack Simon) Beck of Champaign, and Patricia (Tom Zeller) Wycoff of St. Louis; and uncles, Hugh (Kathy) Wycoff of Normal and Samuel White of Crystal Lake. Other survivors are his cousins, Austin Beck of Champaign; Zachary White and Ellen White of Crystal Lake; Jacob White, a US Marine stationed in Japan; Amanda Wycoff and Jonathan Wycoff of Normal; and Sarah Wycoff of Bettendorf, Iowa. He leaves behind his dog, Sammy, the best dog in the world. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandfather, Floyd D. Wycoff, and paternal grandfather, Jack D. White. Casey was a 2009 graduate of Centennial High School, where he was part of the regional championship baseball team his junior and senior years. He won the award for top art student his senior year. He performed in musicals and was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He attended Parkland College and the University of Illinois, where he was working toward a degree in English Literature. He was a DJ at Kams and was a proud member of Delta Chi fraternity. Casey played baseball his whole life, starting with Peanut League. He played American Legion baseball and fall ball, and was on the FCA traveling team. He excelled at playing shortstop and could not wait for the season to start each year. He loved his family, cousins and friends. His friends were his life, all the way from preschool through college. He especially loved his Delta Chi brothers. He was known as someone who always wanted to make everyone laugh and feel good. He was very successful at both. Casey loved the Chicago Blackhawks and was a fan of the KC Royals (the inspiration for his name). He had a beautiful spirit, a mischievous sense of humor and a smile that would light up a room. To know him was a blessing, and through the many people who loved him, his bright light will continue to shine. Services will be private. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home in Champaign is handling arrangements. A fund has been set up in his name at Busey Bank in Urbana. Donations in Caseys memory will go to the things he loved. Messages and memories may be sent to his family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
