Casey M. Andersen

Champaign – Casey M. Andersen, 44, of Champaign, passed away at 11:10 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at OSF Healthcare in Peoria, IL. She was born April 23, 1980 to Paul and Vicki (Wildman) Andersen. She married Jim Cox in 1999 with whom she had one child.

She is survived by her son, James Ryan (Aly Trowbridge) Andersen of Champaign, mother Vicki Andersen of Foley, AL; brother, Derek (Melissa) Andersen; nephews, Connor Finn Andersen and Tyler Arterbury; aunts and uncles, Terry and Katie Andersen, Rebecca Wildman, and Jim and Lois Wildman; former husband, Jim Cox; and four “bonus” family members, dear friends Katie, Deb, Lindsey, and Crystal.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Paul Ryan Andersen.

Casey was proud to have worked as a Claims Processor at Blue Cross Blue Shield for 20 years. She was a big fan of several shows, but especially enjoyed Harry Potter, Supernatural, and a variety of Anime. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend and will be missed dearly.

Per Casey’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Casey’s honor may be made to the PKD Research Foundation.
