Carson Vericker

Carson Keith Vericker, known as Corky, was born on December 24, 1959, in Marianna Arkansas. He passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, in Urbana, Illinois.

Corky was married to his wife Janie for 45 years. Leaving Arkansas was hard, but they relocated to Rantoul, IL in 1986. They raised their 3 sons there and grew into the community through sports and church.

Corky managed the airport for the past 20 years for the Village of Rantoul. He was very dedicated and passionate about his job. Corky was a lifetime sports fanatic starting with playing multiple sports throughout his youth, coaching and watching his 3 sons in different sports, or golfing with friends. He continued to cheer on the Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals, play golf, and officiate games as often as he could. You could often see him in stripes on the field or the court with his crew that he loved working with or a Razorback shirt around town.

Corky leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory. Surviving are his beloved wife, Janie (Mathews) Vericker, mother, Laura Vericker, sons, Bryan (Lacey) Vericker, Clint (Irina) Vericker, and Dustin Vericker, five grandchildren: Carson Vericker, Kaidynce Vericker, Kameryn Vericker, Sloane Vericker, and Zoe Vericker, and his brothers, Clyde "Bang" Vericker, Jeff Vericker, and Lance Vericker.

Corky’s was preceded in death by his father, Darryl Vericker, and his grandparents. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
