Carroll Wayne Parker Sr

Carroll Wayne Parker, SR, of Westville, passed away at 8:32pm, Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur. He was born in Casa, Arkansas, on October 5, 1940, the son of Melvin M.A.' and Cynthia {Sullivan} Parker. He was united in marriage to Andrea Lynn Hurst on September 21, 1964, in Arkansas. She will miss her dearly. He is also survived by: his sons, Mark Parker of Missouri, Brian (Angela) Parker of Kansas, & Rodney (Stephanie) White of Alabama; his daughters, Valerie (Steve) Barnes of Westville & Kristie (John Shelato) Parker-Galinis of Westville; his grandchildren, Lance Warstler, Nathan (Fini) Warstler, Nicholas (Stephanie) Warstler, Layton Warstler, Justin (Hayley) Parker, Jeremiah Galinis, Ethan Shelato, Amber (Justin) Puzey, Nikki Parker, Matthew Parker, Danny Wayne Parker, Lukus Parker, Kambridge Parker, Ashley Nicole Parker, & Ryan White; his 15 great grandchildren; his brothers-in-law, Terry (Sonia) Hurst, Tim Hurst, & Gary Hurst, as well as their families; and his sister-in-law, Karen Hurst; and his many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son, Carrol W. Parker, JR; his daughter, Elizabeth Parker; his father & mother-in-law, Paul & Norma Hurst; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Hurst. Carroll worked for Thyssen-Krupp for 27 years until he retired. He had also previously worked at Firestone in Russellville, AR. He proudly served in the National Guard for sixteen years. He liked to DJ in his spare time and was a volunteer fireman. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. A celebration of Carroll's life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. Visitation will be held 12:00pm (Noon) until 2:00pm Thursday prior to his service at the funeral home. As per his wishes, he will be cremated.
