Carrie Lynn Gulick (Miller) of Danville passed away peacefully at Carle Hospital in Champaign at 4:45 AM on February 8, 2017 at the age of 58. Carrie is survived by her mother, Patricia A. Johnson, of Danville and her father, Gerald W. (Maryanne) Miller, of Ocala, FL; son, Corey (Brooke) Lanter of Danville, from her first marriage to Robert Lanter; brother, Gary L. Miller of Orlando, FL; her bonus father, Steven E. Johnson of Danville; her bonus sisters, Lisa Ellery (Johnson) of Westville and Aymee McCay (Johnson) of Jacksonville, FL; grandson, Samuel W. Lanter and aunt, Joann (Michael) Schingel of Danville. Carrie later married Steven Gulick of Danville. Carrie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lauren and Lena Carpenter and Hazel and Joe Miller and uncle Lauren E. Carpenter. Carrie was born September 28, 1958, the daughter of Gerald W. Miller and Patricia A. (Carpenter) Johnson. She graduated from Danville High School in 1977 where she was a talented cheerleader for four years. After high school Carrie attended and graduated from Danville School of Cosmetology and worked as a nail technician for several years. Changing careers, Carrie fulfilled several positions as a faithful employee of Walgreens Company for twenty-two years. She formed many friendships with coworkers and customers throughout that time and was known for her holiday cheese ball. Carrie was an avid gardener and looked forward to springtime when she planted her tomatoes and flowers. She could often be found in her pool with her special dog, Diamond, riding on the back of a Harley Davidson, or enjoying time spent with close friends, Dee and Janice. Carrie was passionate about her love for her son and grandson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Shirley and Don Gibson and Vicki and Bob Steele for their friendship and support of Carrie during her illness. A celebration of life for Carrie will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville at 3 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2017 with Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-3 pm prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
