Carrie L. Snyder

Carrie L. Snyder, 84, of Georgetown, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Paris Health and Rehab, Paris, IL. She was born on July 9, 1937, the daughter of Earl Hap and Naomi Harris. She was married to Dwight Snyder Sr. on April 11, 1959, in Vermilion County. He survives. She is also survived by her children, Joe (Mary) Snyder of Maryville, TN, Jim (Lorie) Snyder of Chenoa, IL, John (Janet) Snyder of Georgetown, & Cindy Ross; her 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; her siblings, Ben (Mary) Harris, Bob (Lucy) Harris, Geary Harris, Blanche (Joe) Springer, Dorothy Newcomb, Barbara Stevens, Rita Gibson, & Anita Lutz; her sister-in-law, Lillian Harris; as well as many nieces and nephews, especially Michelle Gocken, who was close to Carrie and a great comfort and the family is thankful and grateful for the all of the care she gave her. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Ronnie Harris. Carrie was known for the way she cared for people her whole life. She was caregiver and worked as a CNA for 35 years in area nursing homes as well as home care for individuals. She was a great cook and loved to feed her entire family and always invited her friends to join in. Carrie and Dwight enjoyed life together whether it was camping, traveling and morel hunting. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched and everyone that knew and loved her. A celebration of Carries life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, 61846. Visitation will be held 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. As per her wishes, Carrie will be accorded cremation rites.
