Carolyn Sue Gill, 84, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 9:55am, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 26, 1936, in Clay County, Illinois the daughter of Carrell and Iva {Herdes} Gaskin. She was united in marriage to James Gill on December 19, 1953 in Flora, IL. He will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by her children, Rick Gill of Avon, IN, Steve (Hyong) Gill of Brighton, TN, Terri (Leon) Compton of Westville; her grandchildren, Nick Gill, Jim Gill, Mike Gill, Savannah Gill, Garrett Black, & Cassidy Spesard; her 10 great grandchildren; and her sister, Sondra Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Brenda Gill. Carolyns family was her life and when her grandchildren came into her life, she cherished each of them. She was known to many as outgoing and everyone she met loved her. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her Hospice Nurse, Cassie. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Clay City Cemetery, Clay City, Illinois. Her family has entrusted her arrangements to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Lincolnland Hospice of Sarah Bush Lincoln. Please join her family in sharing memories through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
