Carolyn S. Johnson

Carolyn Johnson, 74, of Danville passed away at 8:50 AM on August 25, 2012 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. Carolyn was born on August 22, 1938, the daughter of Frank Ernest and Bertha (Ringstrom) Laker. She married Robert Gene Kuyrkendall in August of 1957 in Danville. He preceded her in death in 1965. She is survived by one daughter-Linda (William Michael) Nijak of Danville, two grandchildren- Chastity (Dave) Osborn and Brandy (Tim) Moulton, five great-grandchildren- Mayce and Cale Osborn, Brylee Jo, Evan Allen and Ian Michael Moulton, special friends- Roberta Bland, Dee Styer, Gerry Delp and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son-Joe Allen Kuyrkendall, one daughter-Rhonda Sue Kuyrkendall, two sisters- Mary Davis and Audrey Ann Ross, one brother-Gene Smith and one granddaughter- Amber Lynn Craft. Carolyn was a member of First United Methodist Church in Danville. She enjoyed country music, dancing, going out to eat and bowling. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Peggy Emmert officiating. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials can be made in Carolyn's name to the American Cancer Society.
