Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with burial to take place at Sunset Memorial Park following the service. Calling hours for family and friends will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the funeral home. E-mail condolences may be sent to the Carolyn Mowery-Quarles, 58, of Danville, passed away in her sleep on March 6, 2010 at her home. She was born on February 24, 1952, in Danville, the daughter of Kenneth and Lotus (Williamson) Mowery. She is survived by her son, John P. (Kristine) Mowery of Danville; husband Charles Quarles Jr. of Danville, two brothers, Eric B. (Vickie) Mowery of Danville, Timothy Mowery, Dann Roth of Danville, and her sister, Vanetta J. (Rick) Winslow of Danville. Her stepbrother, Kenneth W. (Julie) Mowery, two granddaughters, Kendra N. Mowery, MacKenzie A. Mowery, and several of her nieces and nephews also survive Carolyn. Her parents preceded Carolyn in death. She graduated from Danville High School and Eastern Illinois University, obtaining a degree in Psychology. She worked at the Danville Veterans Administration as a counselor, and later was employed with Quaker Oates of Danville. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, baking, working in her garden, playing with her two Schnauzers, Sam and Ebony, and having movie time with her granddaughters. She was a very giving person that would do anything she could to help others. She will be missed by all that knew her.
