Carolyn 'Jane' Hamilton

CAROLYN JANE HAMILTON Carolyn Jane Hamilton, 64, of Danville, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Thursday, January 13th, 2011 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. Jane was born on January 12th, 1947 in Danville, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (White) Cottle. She is survived her life partner- James Dalbey of Danville; sister-Judy (Warren) Evans of Fithian; five nieces and nephews- Michael, Cressa, Joanna, Marca and Patrick. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters- Jenny Cottle and Charlotte Shumate. Jane was a 1965 graduate of Bismarck High School and later graduated from the University of Illinois. She worked for the Illinois Department of Employment Security for several years, until she retired in 2002. She was a member of the Vermilion County Museum and the Vermilion County Conservation District. Jane enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time outdoors, her dogs and cats and going to the covered bridge festival. She was a great aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was a great friend as well as Jims best friend and a loved sister. A Celebration of the life of Carolyn Jane Hamilton will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18th, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Dennis Anglin officiating. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park following the service. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
