Carolyn Jane Bireline, 87, of Danville, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005 at North Logan Healthcare in Danville. She was born August 23, 1917 in Galva, Illinois, the daughter of Emil J. and Mabel E. (Vandell) Mueller. She married Henry P. Hi Bireline on September 7, 1936 in Danville, Illinois. Hi preceded her in death in 1963. Carolyn is survived by: one Son- John Buck Bireline of Erie, PA; one daughter-in-law- Charlotte Bireline of Danville; three Grandchildren- Shannon (Brad) Smith of Danville, Lisa (Kevin) Sarver of Omaha, Nebraska and Henry R. Buz Bireline of Gainesville, FL; four Great-Grandchildren- Jacob Allen Sarver, Nelle Shannon Smith, Cassidy Ann Sarver and Molly Carolyn Smith; and one Brother- John S. (Martha) Mueller of Newark, Delaware. In addition to her husband, her parents and one Son- Henry M. Butch Bireline preceded her in death. She graduated from Danville High School in 1935. Carolyn owned and operated Hi Cs Kennel from 1963-1997. She was a very active member and volunteer for Danville Kennel Club for many years. She was a member of Zonta Club and the Toastmistress Club, and along with her husband, was an active supporter and volunteer for Little League and Pony League baseball. Carolyn was a volunteer for Lakeview Hospital Gift Shop, knitted baby hats for the hospital, and remained an active hospital volunteer until her death. She was one of the first residents of Liberty Estates, and was a very active leader within the Liberty Estates community. She enjoyed knitting, jigsaw puzzles, was a huge sports fan and Chicago Cubs fan for over 60 years. Carolyn was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and maintained a close relationship with all of them. She always said The purpose of my life is to take care of my family. Carolyn carried out this purpose with grace and dignity, and will be missed by all who knew her.
