Danville - Carol Sue (Lovelace) Smith - June 5, 1936 The most amazing cook and baker passed away at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 with her family by her side. Carole never met a stranger and celebrated life to the fullest. She never allowed anyone to leave her home hungry, where everyone was always welcome and you better use the backdoor. Carole and Dale raised their five children on the farm north of Newtown, IL. After their farm sale, they moved into Oakwood, IL, when she loved having the grandkids stop by for a snack. Her love for cooking spread across the rural land she loved so much. She catered her children's wedding receptions, as well as many friends in the community. Carole Sue Lovelace married Dale Smith on August 12, 1956. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Carole is preceded in death by her parents John and Hallie Lovelace and her grandson, Jesse Maxwell. She is survived by her children; Rick (Tracey) Smith, Rusty (Julie) Smith, Teresa (Dave) Cronk, Deb Simmons, Dawn (Todd) Kester, grandchildren; Lucas Smith, Mimi (Tyler) Brown, Clayton (Lindsay) Smith, Samantha (Michael) Harper, Shelby Simmons, Cory Kester, Hannah Kester, Holly Kester, Anderson Smith, Mitchell (Janalis) Cronk, Logan Cronk, Matt Barnet, Jack Barnet, great-grandchildren; Camille Brown, Elliott Brown, Grayson Smith, Paisley Smith. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville on Sunday, November 27,2016 from 1-5 pm. A Celebration of Life will be on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00 am.
