Carole Johnson

Carole Johnson, 78, of Danville, passed away at 4:10pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born on November 8, 1932, in Westville, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Dixie Rippon. Both are deceased. On December 21, 1957, Carole married A. Louis Johnson at the St. James Methodist Church in Danville. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2009. Survivors include four children; Johnny (Lori) Johnson; Chris (Carl) Jones; Tammy Johnson; and Lou-Ann (David Styer) Leverich. Her 13 grandchildren; Luke, Matt, Tiffany, Nick, Brandon, Jeff, Missy, Jennifer, Stephen, Jessica, Katie, Allie, Louie, 21 great-grandchildren, her brother; Tom (Sue) Rippon, and one great-grandchild on the way. In addition to her parents, and husband, her three sisters; Violet, Wini, and Jennie preceded Carole in death. She graduated from Taylorville, IL. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, and having her Sunday gatherings. She was a member of the Elks Club, and enjoyed cooking for the Youth Football League. Family met everything to Carole, and she will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Carole Johnson Life will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Monday, May 9, 2011 at the funeral home.
