Carole Hafner, 56, of Danville, passed away on September 20, 2014 at North Logan Healthcare in Danville. She was born on November 15, 1957 in Danville, the daughter of Randall and Betty (Dolbee) Pate. She married Jon Hafner on May 22, 1976 in Tilton, IL and he survives. Carole will be deeply missed by her mother, Betty Pate, husband, Jon Hafner, daughter, Joy (Darren Winkler) Hafner, brother, Ronald (Linda) Pate, half brothers, Michael (Evelyn) Brooks, Randy (Diane) Brooks and Karli (Stephani) Schnur, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Pate, one son, Jacob Hafner and her grandparents. Carole received her associates degree from Danville Area Community College and worked at Genpact in Danville for over 25 years. She was also a secretary at the Vermilion County Clerks office. Carole walked in many charity events to support cancer and was a member of Central Park Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her kids, playing the guitar and listening to music, grilling out and enjoying the outdoors, watching NHRA and NASCAR racing, reading and gardening. A celebration of life graveside service for Carole will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville with Wade Martin officiating. Burial will take place at the cemetery following the graveside rites. In lieu of flowers memorials can be left to the family for purchase of the grave marker.
