URBANA- Carol Virginia Carlson, 84, of Urbana peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Carol had a life well-lived. She was born on December 24, 1930, the daughter of George and Gladys Hackett. She was the fourth of thirteen children. She married Norman Carlson on August 15, 1953. He survives Also surviving are her children, Linda (Pete) Joyce and Michael (Bonnie) Kent; six grandchildren, Aleshia, Andrew, Nathan, Katherine, Lauren, and Brandon; and nine great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kaitlynn, Emily, Aubrey, Annaleigh, Lydia, Sawyer, Kane and one on the way. She worked most of her years as a bookkeeper for 2 heating and air businesses. She was a woman of knowledge and wisdom with a questioning mind. She was quick to listen, forgave easily, but she never forgot anything. She was passionate about Bingo. Early on she enjoyed attending the dances at the American Legion with her husband. Carol Virginia will be most remember for her love for her husband, family, and Illinois athletics. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil Street, Champaign, IL. A Celebration of her Life will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign. Memorial contributions may be made in Carol Virginias honor to a Veterans organization of the donors choice.
