Carol J. Russian, 83, of Danville passed away in her home with family by her side on Saturday December 30, 2017. Carol was born on August 4th, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Fred and Gertrude (Thiede) Drews. Carol married Donald Russian the love of her life on May 6th, 1956 in Danville. He preceded her in death on May 20th, 2014 after fifty-eight years together. Carol leaves behind her three children; Steve (Debbie) Russian of Tilton, Marsha (Gary) Russian-Mansfield of Danville and Laura (Aron) Cooper of Danville, five grandchildren; Justine (Jonas) Story, Amy Cooper (Marshall Peaselee), Morgan (Josh) Giuliani, Dalton Russian and Jacob Cooper, four great grandchildren; Caydence, Alexus, Kenzley and Amahya one step grandson Zaylen, two sisters Bonnie (Jerry) Holmes and Sharron (Chip) Runyan, one loving and special cat Edweena many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister Joan Wahlfelt. Carol was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville, she enjoyed gardening and was a member of the gardening club. Carol also enjoyed cooking, going to Roselawn Fitness to exercise being in a bowling league and travel out to Sunset Memorial Park to visit the Swans. Carol also loved to dance with Donald and spending time with family and friends. Carol had an incredible sense of humor even laughing at her own jokes. She had a way of teaching her children and grandchildren about life. Her saying was "Do the right thing and you will never have to say you are sorry." Carol had a special way of making you feel better when you were going through rough times. She was a lover of life, family and especially her lord. A Celebration of Life for Carol will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday January 4th, 2018 at 1pm. Pastor Heidle will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park where Carol will be laid to rest next to her love Donald. Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday January 4th, 2018 from 11-1. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
