Carol Rose (Polomski) Douglass, 80, of Oakwood, IL passed away at 3:21 AM on November 25, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Carol was born on January 28, 1942 the daughter of John and Julia (Mickett) Polomski in Clinton, IN. She married Loren Douglass on August 26, 1983 in Danville, IL and he survives.
Survivors include her husband, Loren Douglass of Oakwood, IL, daughter, Leann (Gary) Edwards of Williamsport, IN, son, Joseph "Joey" Mediate of Attica, IN, 2 step-daughter, Barbara (Scott) Lindley of Mt Pulaski, IL, and Tori Douglass of Leroy, IL, 3 sisters-in-law, Judy Polomski of Clinton, IL, Diane VanAllen of Oakwood, IL and Donna Stoutin of Sarasota, FL, nine grandchildren, Ashley, Herby, Jake, Alexis, Alley, Jarod, Devan, Clayton and Rylan, three great grandchildren, Claire, Wesley and Breanna as well as several nieces and nephews. Carol had many friends in both Illinois and Florida and will be missed by many.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Polomski, and her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Bill Weber of Clinton, IN.
Carol retired from Tee Pak from the Sheering Department after 30 years of service. She enjoyed her retirement and spent those years doing the things she loved. Carol loved gardening and was a Master Gardener with the University of Illinois Extension Office. Her flower beds were one of her many pleasures. She also enjoyed many crafts and hobbies such as painting, card making, crocheting, and her most involved hobby of genealogy. She loved researching her family history and the families of others. She loved spending time with her family and traveling to Florida for the winter months.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Oakwood, Illinois 105 East S. Main St. Oakwood, Illinois 61858. Patti Wise will officiate. Burial will be in Allhands Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 9-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Memorial may be made in Carols memory to the Master Gardener program at the University of Illinois Extension Office.
