Carol Pierce

Carol Pierce, 68, of Danville, passed away at 9:55 PM on December 26, 2011 at her residence. Carol was born on February 24, 1943 in Gary, IN to George W. and Jessie (Morris) Nixon. She married William Pierce on June 25, 1972 in Danville. He survives. She is survived by one son-William H. (Jamie) Pierce II of Onarga, IL, two daughters- Crystal (Rob Elliott) Pierce of Danville, Starla (Larry) Blackburn of Milford, IL, four brothers- Jerry Nixon of Danville, Harold (Yvonne) Nixon of Danville, Donie Nixon of Hobart, IN, and Kenny Nixon of Gary, IN, one sister-Sharon (Richard) Nicholls of Decatur, IL, ten grandchildren-Cody Frost, Cierra Elliott, Jason and Kyle Blackburn, Lance, Marissa and Katherine Pierce, Evan Seggebruch, Josh Trussle, Tony Elmore, nine great-grandchildren and special friend Rose Kizer of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Carol attended Danville High and loved collecting dolls, camping, fishing, sewing and most of all spending time with her family and friends. A Celebration of Carol's Life will be held on Saturday December 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Vera Duncanson officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 AM Saturday December 31, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville, IN. Memorials can be made in Carol's name to the American Cancer Society.
