Carol Marie Broderick

Carol Marie {Shaw} Broderick, 74, of Westville, passed away at 2:10pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Provena USMC, Danville. She was born in Danville, IL, on January 16, 1938, the daughter of Joseph W. and Helen Mae {Reddy} Nicholas, both deceased. She was wed to Gerald G. Shaw on December 25, 1955, in Danville, IL, until his passing in 1975. She is survived by: her sons, Bruce (Cathy) Shaw of Kokomo, IN, & Brent (Becky) Shaw of Cayuga, IN; her grandchildren, Stacy (Andy) Mills of W. Lafayette, IN, Kyle Shaw of Kokomo, IN, & Brandi Hughes of Cayuga, IN; her great grandchildren, Caleb Shaw, Madison Mills, Aubrey Mills, & Owen Norman; her brother-in-law, Howard Wagoner of Westville; her special cousin, Mary Lutchka of Westville; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by: her sister, Helen Wagoner; her brothers, Joseph Skip' Nicholas & Paul Nicholas; and her granddaughter, Kayla Hughes. Carol loved working in her yard and tending her flowers. She enjoyed going to yard sales and camping. She loved her faithful dog, Jake. Most of all, she cherished her time spent with her family. A celebration of Carol's life will be held at 11:00am, Monday, May 7, 2012, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 2pm-6pm, Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, Danville. Memorial donations may be given in Carol's name to American Cancer Society.
