PERRYSVILLE, IN Carol Elaine Pollock, of Perrysville, passed away at 6:42am, Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. Carol was born September 30, 1944 in Clinton, IN, the daughter of Arthur and Hazel Grimm. She married Ray Pollock on July 17, 1964 in Danville. He preceded her in death August 3, 2007. Survivors include one daughter, Tammy (Brett) Burchett of Covington and two granddaughters, Taryn (Ryan) Scrogham and Kelsey Kellams; her great- grandson, Vincent Ryan; Sisters, Judy (Jim) Marietta and Connie Bensyl; Nieces, Viv (Jim) Dudley and Brandi (Tim) Riley; Nephew, Jim (Debbie) Marietta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rays parents, a brother-in-law, Jim Bensyl and a nephew, Rick Marietta. Carol lived in Perrysville for 39 years. She enjoyed taking care of her yard, traveling to her home in Florida, kayaking and spending time with her poodles, Coco and Annie. She loved playing cards and going to casinos with her sisters. Carol was able to spend time with her granddaughters and watch them become successful young adults. Also, Carol attended Estero Methodist Church in Estero, FL. Carol graduated from Eastern Illinois University with an Elementary Education degree. She taught 4th grade at Diamond Grade School for 4 years. Later, she began her banking career at The Fountain Trust Company, spanning over 30 years. She was a Branch Manager and Loan Officer in Kingman and then became Chief Lending Officer in 2003 through 2015 when she retired. A celebration of Carols life will be at 3:00pm (EST), Monday, July 22, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, located 420 3rd Street, with Ryan Sowers officiating. Visitation will be 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Monday prior to her service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to the Parke-Vermillion County Humane Society or Acadiana Animal Aid in Lafayette, Louisiana where Coco and Annie were rescued.
