Carol Blundy

Danville Carol Blundy, 96, of Danville passed away at 1:10 AM on March, 24, 2023 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL surrounded by family.

Carol was born on December 29, 1926 in Forrest, IL the daughter of Menno and Carrie (Haab) Moser. She married Kenneth Blundy on February 27, 1945 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1985.

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Blundy and Barbara (Cy) Carlton; one daughter-in-law, Becky Blundy; grandchildren, Rich (Heather) Blundy, Jim (Christy) Blundy, Missy (Craig) Reed, Justin (Kayla) Blundy, and Shawna (Ryan Newlin) Blakeney; plus eleven great-grandchildren. Carol also leaves behind sisters-in-law, Bonnie Moser and Carolyn Blundy; brother-in-law, Bob (Debbie) Dowdy; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenneth, two sons, Doug Blundy and David Blundy; infant grandson, Matthew Blundy; brother, Warren Lee Moser; sisters, Anna Mae King and Linda Welch; brothers-in-law, Walter King, Dale Welch, Richard Blundy and Kenneth McClellan; and sister-in-law, Carmen McClellan.

Carol attended Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church and worked at various Credit Bureaus and retired from the location in Danville. After retiring, she remained active and helped out part-time at her son, Davids Accounting and Tax Office in Danville, IL. She worked up to the age of 89, quitting only when the office closed due to her sons death.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 30 , 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois, 61834. Andrew Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the funeral home.
