Carol Bates

Carol Ann Bates, 56, of Danville passed away on March 5, 2007 at home. Carol was born July 29, 1950 in Danville daughter of Joseph R. and Betty Huffman Kilgore. She married Richard Bates in October of 1986 in California. He survives along with her mother Betty of Danville, sister: Linda Briscoe of Philo, IL, four step children: Suzanne, Richard Jr., Charles, and Mary Louise; three step granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her father and brother Gregory Allen Kilgore. Carol was a 1968 graduate of Danville High School and attended DACC. She worked a short time as a secretary for Bohn Aluminum & the University of Illinois. She worked as a secretary and office manager at her husbands law firm in Danville for many years. She enjoyed reading, needlework, drawing, traveling and photography and loved vacationing at their home in Palm Springs, California and her many years with her beloved dog Tiger. A Celebration of Carols Life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorial may be made to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter, Alzheimers foundation and/or donors choice.
