Carol Ann Wade

Carol Ann Wade, 74 of Georgetown, passed away at 4:17pm, Monday, May 18, 2015, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on August 3, 1940, in Georgetown, the daughter of Clarence and Lillian Grace (Nichols) Galyen. She was united in marriage to Glenn Wade on December 31, 1958, in Georgetown, IL, until his passing on September 2, 2009. She is survived by: her daughters, Melody (Wayne) Douglass of Danville & E. Jane (Roger) Gilkison of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Terra, Trisha, Uriah, Danielle, Grace, & Brandi; her 16 great grandchildren with one on the way; and her brother, Roy (Alice) Galyen of Georgetown. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence; her mother, Grace; her step-father, Alonzo Becker; her son, Glenn Butch' Wade; and her sister, Sharon Jones. Carol worked at General Electric for 5 years and then at Peterson's for 35 years. She was an active member of the Aluminum, Brick, & Clay Worker's Union and served as Secretary. Carol enjoyed camping, shopping, and spending time with her grandkids & great grandkids. She also enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Carol's life will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, May 22, 2015, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown. Visitation will be held 4pm-7pm, Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown.
