CAROL ANN BLOOMFIELD Carol Ann Bloomfield, 67, of Danville, passed away at 1:07 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at her home after a long battle with cancer. Carol was born on February 14, 1942 in Cayuga, Indiana, the daughter of Pearl (Webster) Rudd. She is survived by her daughter-Diana (Allen) Swisher of Rantoul, Illinois; two brothers- Kenneth Rudd of Westville and Wayne Rudd of Omaha, Nebraska; one sister- Jean Turner of Danville; two grandsons- Nathaniel and Ethan Swisher of Rantoul; and several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters- Peg Mann, Kathryn DeLattre and Mildred DeVore; and four brothers- Don Rudd, Tom Rudd, Dean Rudd and Bill Rudd. Carol graduated from Westville High School. She worked as a postal clerk, for the post office in Oakwood for 19 years, until she retired in 2004. Prior to working at the post office, she worked at Chuckles in Danville for several years. Carol enjoyed reading, cooking, shopping, watching movies, cake decorating, listening to country music, taking care of her two dogs-Sophie and Tinker and going out to eat with her cousins and sister. She loved to spend time with her grandsons Nathaniel and Ethan. Carol will be sadly missed by all who knew her and loved her. A Celebration of the Life of Carol Ann Bloomfield will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor Patti Wise officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service ON Monday in Parrish Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Carols name to the American Cancer Society.
