Carol Ann Alexander

Georgetown - Carol Ann Alexander, 75, of Georgetown, IL, unexpectedly went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 16, 2021 at 7:42 PM at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Carol was born January 13, 1946 to Lawrence and Sallie (Haiti) Keerns in Danville, IL, the youngest of three daughters.

Carol is survived by her two sons, Dwayne Hatton, and Darren (Neva) Alexander, her only grandchild, Macey Alexander (Zach Devylder), and two great grandchildren, Gavin Devylder and Elise Devylder all of whom reside in Georgetown, IL. She is also survived by her oldest sister, DeeLoris Brooks of San Diego, CA, and many nieces and nephews.

Carol is proceeded in death by her parents, and her sister, Lois Coultas.

Carol had a love for all animals, especially dogs and hermit crabs. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time with her granddaughter. Carol graduated from Danville High School, became a bartender for many years at The Big Barrel, then went back to school to attain her Associates Degree in Accounting. After she received her accounting degree, she went to work for the Illinois Department of Corrections for 20 years and was able to retire at the age of 52. Carol was very caring and had always wanted to help others in any way that she could and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. James Blue will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the funeral home.

It is kindly requested that those in attendance of the visitation or service wear a mask and practice social distancing.
