Pard was born on August 15th 1936 in Moline Illinois to Carlos R. Sr/Irene (Carleton) Wisher. After moving to Paxton Illinois he worked as a carpenter with his father. But it wasnt long until he noticed a pretty young neighbor girl named Betty Watson. They became inseparable and on November 7, 1960 they were married and have spent the last 58 years together. If ever two people completed each other it was mom and dad. It was joy as one of their children to see such a deep love between two people. Pard continued to work the construction trade with his father and eventually his sons.
This may be a good time to explain how dad got the nickname Pard which his father also went by. I believe dad was a cowboy at heart enjoying western movies and books and also explains why my middle name is Wayne. Dad loved John Wayne. Dad was very young when he began working construction and the guys took to calling him Pard, short for partner, and it stuck. He was a loving father and adored his children and grandchildren. He had a great laugh which he did often when they were around. Dad was also one of the most humble men I can remember. He was a hard worker and one of the best carpenters in the area. I dont believe I ever heard a boastful word come out of his mouth. He just did the job and let it speak for him. He loved to hunt pheasant and rabbits and also trapped when he was younger. He was a lifelong Chicago Cub, Chicago Bear and University of Illinois Basketball fan.
Our father was quiet about his faith but we knew he knew Jesus Christ. That is where our comfort comes from. To know that death is but a doorway to a better place and that we will be with him again. The COPD will be gone and that smile and laugh and those huge strong hands will hold us again. That is where our hope and promise lies. We all love ya pop and we will take care of mom for you. See you in a little while. There no services planned as per the wishes of the family.
