Carleen A. Elliott, 69, of Geneva, Ohio, formerly of Danville, IL, passed away at 10:00pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at her daughters home in Ohio. She was born on February 23, 1942 in Danville, the daughter of Orville and Maris (Barkman) Cole. Both are deceased. On October 2, 1976, Carleen married Harlan L. Elliott. He preceded her in death in 2007. Carleen is survived by her five children; Shane (Tammy) Halbrook of Indianapolis, IN; Carrie Freeland of Danville, Alice (Charles) Lomax of Oakwood, Margaret Clutter of Arizona, and Marie (Joe) Martin of Genevia, Ohio. Her six grandchildren; Tad Ryan Freeland; Erin Nicole Wells, Corey Daniel Lomax, Jeffery and Christopher Clutter, Austin Cole Martin, three great-grandchildren; Thomas Ryan and Taylor Grace Wells, Logan Alexander Freeland, and one brother; Terry Cole of Alabama, also survive her. In addition to her parents, and husband Harlan, an infant grandson; Chad Michael Freeland, and an infant granddaughter preceded Carleen in death. She retired from Danville Metal Stamping, as an x-ray tech, scanning airplane parts for discrepant ices. She enjoyed her family and friends, and always had a special bond with her pets, especially her therapy dog, Chopper. She was a member of the TOPS, IL 315, and enjoyed being a part of the Puppet and Clown Ministries, and recently was attending the Vermilion Heights Christian Church in Danville, where she was loved and will be missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of the Life of Carleen Elliott will begin at 10:00am on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with burial to be held at Danville National Cemetery following the service. Pastor Rod Godley has been asked to officiate the service The Elliott family will be receiving friends starting at 9:00am until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
