Carl "Rick" Richard Boyd, 46, of Danville, passed away at 12:42am on Friday June 29, 2018. Rick was born in Danville on September 15, 1971, the son of J.R. and Janice King. On August 20, 1994 Rick married the love of his life Laura Newlin, she survives. Also surviving Rick are his children Amber (Daniel) Cole, Corey Boyd, Elizabeth (Ross) Rule and grandchildren, Noah Cole, Isaiah Cole, Jensen Cole, and R.J. Rule. Rick is preceded in death by his grandmother Janice Briggs, father-in-law Gary Newlin and aunt, Pat Carson. Rick enjoyed being outdoors and playing cards. He was an avid collector of ball cards as well as old video games including the Atari and Sega Genesis. The most important thing in Rick's life were his family and friends, he would give up anything to spend time with them and for this he will be truly missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion, Danville. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Monday July 2, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation.
