Carl 'Pete' Bock

Carl Pete L. Bock, 94, of Danville, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Pete was born on July 5, 1913 in Danville, the son of Louis and Edna (Mauck) Bock. He is survived by cousins- John L. Barry of Perrysville, Indiana, John M. (Beverly) Barry of Covington, Indiana , Michael Barry of Edina, Minnesota, William (Kelly) Barry, Justine Barry, Nicholas Barry and Christopher Barry all of Marine, Illinois; close friends- Ted and Patty Cundiff and Bill and Wilma Barry both of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister- Alice Sis Bock, one brother- Willard Bock and one cousin- Phyllis M. Barry. Pete worked for several years at B & M Coal Mine with his father. He later worked as an inventory clerk at Allith & Prouty until he retired. He was a lifetime member of the Batestown United Methodist Church. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and was an avid Cubs fan. A Celebration of the Life of Carl Pete L. Bock will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Patti Wise officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 " 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Batestown United Methodist Church.
