Carl N. Gray, 87, of Kingman, IN, passed away at 5:41pm on Saturday, May 15, 2021 with his family surrounding him. He waited for his whole family to be by his side including daughter in law, Tetyana. He was born on February 22, 1934, in Nauvoo, AL, the son of Hardy and Melva (Hopson) Gray. He was united in marriage to love of his life, Laura Bates for 67 years. Laura said if a woman could experience the love and respect she was given, they would know how a man should treat his wife. She will miss him dearly and him calling her, "His Woman". He will be missed by his son, Carl S. (Tetyana) Gray of Crown Point, IN; daughter, Elizabeth Ruth Gray of Marshall, IL; grandchildren, Ronnie (Sarah) Gray, Cassie (Sean) Becker, Pavlo Shyrokov, Renee (Zane) Bliss and Andrea Ruth Gray; great grandchildren, Taylor Gray, Devin Gray and Nolan Gray Becker; sister, Barbara Ruel and Betty Whitten. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Patrick Allen Ruth. Carl was a proud Veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of the Local #150 and worked with heavy equipment for over 50-plus years and was an excellent provider. He had enjoyed his retirement for the last 28 years. Throughout his life, Carl was known to have a big heart and that his family was most important to him. He was a hard-worker and enjoyed fast cars, restoring old trucks, riding motorcycles and taking many trips throughout his life. He most enjoyed going on trips with his CB friends, which including visiting his favorite place, The Grand Canyon. He also visited Alaska and gold mined for a couple of years. He was proud of his Navajo and Cherokee heritage. He was always enjoying the outdoors and going fishing. Carl was proud of the life he lived. His family is comforted by the knowledge that he is now at peace fishing with Larry Howard. Join us as he will Walk On in this Continuation of his Journey. Saturday May 22, 2021 (Immediate family arrive 130 and riders for line up) A procession with the Patriot Guards for Carl N. Gray will be at 2pm (est.) starting at The Waters of Covington Indiana,1600 East Liberty St. Covington Indiana where he will take his last Motorcycle ride to his and his beloved wife's Laura Gray home at Lake Holiday Hideaway of Kingman Indiana. Celebration of the Life of Carl N. Gray will be held with The American Legion Charles Forrest Post 288 of Veedersburg Indiana giving Military Rights at 3pm (est.) at 3411 Elm Drive Kingman Indiana (The Gray's Home) Services will be held Lake side at their home.
