Carl Lester Long

Carl Lester Long, 63, of Harvey, Illinois, formerly of Danville, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Friday October 7, 2005 at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Illinois. Carl was born on August 11, 1942 in Danville, the son of Howard Edward and Goldie Frances (Pruitt) Long. He is survived by his three sisters- Beverly Nelson, Helen (Ed) Spencer, and Linda (Nick) Conner all of Danville; one brother- Bill (Joyce) Long of Covington, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother- Howard Long. Carl enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed watching westerns and the Weather Channel on T.V. He was a member of the U.S. Army from 1960-1964 serving during Vietnam. Graveside services will be held for Carl Lester Long at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the Danville National Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. at the cemetery. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
