Carl J. 'Ike' Eickhoff

Carl J. Ike Eickhoff, 80, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 2:30 pm, December 20, 2008 at VA Illiana Healthcare Systems in Danville. He was born January 29, 1928 in Danville the son of William R. and Edna (Poll) Eickhoff. Ike was married to Patricia Swick until her passing in 2000. Those that will miss him include: his son, Joe (Cindy) Eickhoff of Oakwood; two grandchildren, Brooke and Michaela Eickhoff, both of Oakwood; also his very close friend, Joan Brust of Bradenton, FL. Ike was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Billy; two brothers, Harold and a sister, Wilma. Ike was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1952 serving in French Morocco Africa. He had worked for the rail road for several years and later, owned and operated the Starlite in Ridge farm for many years. Ike was an avid fisherman all his life and enjoyed gardening as well. Ike was a caring son who later in life took his father in to live and care for him. A celebration of life funeral service for Carl John Ike Eickhoff will be 2:00 pm Tuesday December 23, 2008 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home 200 E. West St, Georgetown. Pastor James Blue will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday December 22, 2008 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola. Memorial donations may be given to VA Illiana Healthcare Systems of Danville.
