Carl Hiatt

Carl Richard Hiatt, 88, of Tilton, passed away at 2:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 at North Logan Healthcare in Danville. Carl was born on June 12, 1918, in Steelton, Illinois, the son of Roy and Mary A. (Elsdon) Hiatt. He married Sarah Hetherington on June 21, 1941 in Williamsport, Indiana. She survives. He is survived by one brother- Stephen (Bobbie) Hiatt of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister- Virginia Fern (George) Pantalia of McAllen, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters- Helen Sheets and Ruth Fannin, one brother- Joe Hiatt. Carl attended Westville High School. He worked at Robt. Holmes Brothers for over 40 years, as a machinist and electrician, until he retired in 1983. Carl enjoyed model railroading. He loved doing woodworking and enjoyed making clocks. Carl loved camping and fishing. When Carl turned 80 he started working with computers. Per Carls wishes there will be no services. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
