Candy Gurney

Candy L. Gurney, 58, formerly of Westville passed away on February 11, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born December 30, 1965 in Danville to parents Jerry and Roxy [Calloway] Bertelli. Candy attended Westville High School and graduated with the Class of 85.

She was a CNA for several years before deciding her passion was to hit the road and travel. She did just that and drove a truck for several local companies. She looked forward to being outdoors, especially if it entailed boating, camping, or fishing. Candy had a heart of gold and truly just loved people and life. She loved cats and dogs, and above all else, she loved being a grandmother and spending time with her family.

Candy is survived by her children Stephanie (Michael) Gurney, Johnathon (Jamie) Gurney, Michael Gurney, and Jerry Gurney; and her grandchildren Aaliyah, Nora, Madeline, and Jada. Also surviving are her brother Butch (Karrin) Bertelli; nieces and nephews Dean (Sam) Bertelli, Matthew (Michelle) Bertelli, Emmalee (Ron) Bertelli, and Holly Bertelli; and her best friend Debbie Saunders.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her little brother Joe Bertelli.
