Calvin Barney

Calvin Barney, 62, of Westville, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL. He was born on June 25, 1951, in Danville, IL, the son of Mike and Neoma {Pearson} Barney, both deceased. Survivors include: his son, Keith Barney of Westville; his brothers, Alan Barney of Danville, Ed (Jodi) Barney of Westville, & Tim (Shirley) Barney of Georgetown; his sisters, Yvonne Miller of Westville, Carol McArdle of Westville, Teresa (Clinton) Pridemore of Westville, Karen (Wayne) Dietz of Champaign, & Diana Forsyth of Westville; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins. He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, John & Anna Barney, Elsa & Augusta Pearson; his brother, Robert Barney; and brothers-in-law, Rick Miller & Wayne Forsyth. Calvin lived his whole life for his son, Keith. He enjoyed volunteering and never knew a stranger. Calvin loved to read all types of literature, especially the Bible. Calvin enjoyed spending time at the UAW 579 Hall and spending time with his friends and family, always helping them and never expecting anything in return. He worked for County Market & Metal Stamping. A celebration of Calvins life will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, November 1, 2013, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville. Visitation will be 4-7pm, Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery.
