Calvin A Smith

Calvin A. Smith 52 of Georgetown passed away at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday June 16, 2010 at his home. He was born on December 20, 1957 in Danville the son of Calvin and Delores Zorns Smith He was united in marriage to Kimberly J. Willis on June 16, 1987. Those who will miss him include: his wife, Kimberly; his father, Calvin Smith of Danville; two sons, Calvin (Heather) Smith of Indianola & Brock (Kellie) Smith of Georgetown; one daughter, Jenny (James) Peoples of Hamilton, Alabama; his brother, Kerry smith of Danville; a sister, Vickie (James) Hollingsworth of Alliance, OH; grandchildren, Keirstynne Renae Smith, Austin Peoples, & Katelyn Peoples. He was preceded in death by his mother. Calvin was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed with McLane Midwest as a Semi driver for 16 years. Calvin was a member of the Olivet Church of the Nazarene, also the Georgetown American Legion Post 203. He loved gambling and playing poker, hunting and fishing. Most of all Calvin loved his family and grandchildren. A celebration of life funeral service for Calvin A. Smith will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday June 19, 2010 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Officiating will be Pastor James Blue. Visitation for family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Friday June 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vermilion Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to Olivet Church of the Nazarene or the A.L.S. Association 2258 Weldon Parkway St. Louis, Mo 63146-3206
