Byron Todd Hunter

Byron Todd Hunter, 54, of Danville, IL passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, IL. He was born on February 3, 1968 in Taylorville, IL to Thomas and Linda (Utsler) Hunter.

Byron grew up in Northern Minnesota and graduated high school from Good Shepherd Christian Academy in Grand Rapids, MN. He then attended Mid-American Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. Byron married Angela West on June 21, 1991 in Eureka Springs, AR. He moved to the area of Danville, IL in 1997 and enjoyed being employed at Hyster, Quaker Oats, Sygma, and most recently Fiberteq.

Byron loved his family, grandkids, and pit bull, Buttercup. He enjoyed buying and selling vehicles and furniture. Spending time outdoors and riding his Harley Davidson gave him great freedom. He enjoyed cooking on a charcoal grill and collecting Caterpillar and Quaker memorabilia. Byron enjoyed gospel and country music concerts. He grew up in the Church of the Nazarene and spent the last 7 years worshipping at Second Church of Christ.

Byron is survived by his parents Thomas and Linda Hunter; former wife Angela Hall of Chanute, KS; son Dustin (Chelsea) Hunter of Danville, IL; daughter Amanda Hunter of Chanute, KS; grandchildren Toby Webb and Nova Webb of Chanute, KS; brother Tom (Kristi) Hunter II of Mena, AR; sister Tonja (Jonah) Dodd of McKee, KY; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois, 61834. Service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home. Graveside committal will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Greenville, IL.
