Burl Paul Black

Burl Black Jr., 65, of Danville, passed away at 12:35 PM on February 22, 2012 at Danville VA Illiana Healthcare System. Burl was born on December 6, 1946 in Decatur, IL the son of Burl P. and Betty E. (High) Black Sr. He is survived by his mother, two brothers-Johnny (Anne) Black of Tolono, IL and Dennis (Kelli) Black of Seymour, IL, two sisters- Sharon Armstrong of Seymour, IL and Linda (Carl) Johnson of Weldon, IL, two nieces- Marsha and Jessica, four nephews- Luke, Mike, Joshua and Jeremiah, two great nieces and two great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Burl P. Black Sr. Burl was a member of the U.S. Navy. He loved to travel, listen to music, especially Elvis, and most of all he loved his family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at Danville's VA Illiana Healthcare System. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 9:00 AM at Danville National Cemetery with Pastor James Blue officiating.
