Buford H. Cotton

Buford H. Cotton Jr, 87, of Rantoul, Passed away at 6:10pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at VA Illiana Health Care System. He was born on July 31, 1931 in Pleasant Hill, MO, the son of Bufford & Rachel (Hamilton) Cotton. he was united in marriage to Lois Lammers on May 16, 1954, she survives. He will be dearly missed by his sons, James (Diane) Cotton & Martin Cotton; daughters, Donna Lopez & Debra Marshall; brothers, Bill & Don (Diedra) Cotton; sister, Bonnie Smith; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Buford was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Pansy & Mary Jane Tilkens. Buford was proud to serve his country in the United State Air Force, serving for 24 years in South Korea, Vietnam & Holland. He then became a cab driver for 25 years in the Rantoul area. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Buford loved spending time with his family. A Celebration of Buford's life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion, Danville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Danville National Cemetery.
