Bruce Stark, 67, of Danville passed away at 12:20 PM on September 24, 2023 at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center in Hoopeston, IL.

Bruce was born on May 14, 1956 the son of Joseph and Barbara (Coleman) Stark in Danville, IL. He married Becky Ann Brown on January 20, 1979 in Sidell, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Stark, his daughter, Katie (Austin Williams) Salinas, his son, Cole (Katie) Stark, grandchildren, Isabella Salinas, Cruzito Romero, and Audrey Stark, brother, David (Nancy) Stark and sister, Melissa (Tim) Harper, mother-in-law, Janet Brown, sister-in-law, Lori Brown as well as several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Ron Brown, and his brothers, Paul Stark and Randy Stark.

Bruce retired from the Danville Police Department where he served his community for over 35 years. Bruce loved being a Police Officer and after retirement from the Danville Police Department he served as the Chief of Police in Fithian and Muncie, Chief of Police in Indianola and was currently working for the Tilton Police Department.

Bruce was a member of the PBPA, a 33 Degree Mason with the Olive Branch and Furtherlight Lodges, and he was a Vermilion County Board Member for over 25 years. Most of all, Bruce loved his family and enjoyed taking his grandkids on vacations and to parks.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Rod Godley will officiate. Graveside Committal Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery in rural Sidell. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the funeral home with Masonic Rites accorded at 4:30 PM prior to visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bruces memory are requested to his grandchildrens college education fund.
