Bruce Brutcher

Bruce Brutcher, 72, of Rantoul passed away at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL on Monday, December 30, 2024. Bruce was born November 30, 1952 to Robert and Mary Christine Brutcher of Princeton, Illinois.  Later in life relocating to Rantoul for his United States Air Force Career.  He dedicated his life and served his country for 30 years and retired Captain with honors. Bruce married his loving wife Sandy on June 30, 1984.  She survives, along with their sons Brett (Casey) Brutcher of Paxton, IL; Cory (Rhonda) Stark of Homer, IL; Shane Stark of Rantoul, 5 siblings, Frank Brutcher of Princeton; Marianna (Kelly) Barkley of Princeton, IL; Brian (Bonnie) Brutcher of Santa Anna, CA; David (Enid) Brutcher of Altamont Springs, FL; Janet (Rob) Huffstodt of Valparaiso, IN.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Taylor; Kirsten; Jake; Breven; Valentine; Delan; Kooper; Adyline; Brynnlee; Rorik; Mason and great-grandchildren Maselynn; Gracie; Emmy Lou; Thea; Madison; Zoey and Kai’yr. Bruce was a 1974 graduate of Southern Illinois University and retired from Beauty Quest (Conair) after 30 years of dedicated service, alongside his successful Air Force career. Bruce enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, watching sports, and staying up to date on the daily events of the world. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, parents Robert and Mary Christine, brothers Richard and Robert as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, January 7 at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 East Grove, Rantoul.  Rev. Kevin Little will officiate.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Rantoul. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at Lux memorial Chapel.
