Brittany Ann Counce

Brittany Ann Counce, 43, of Danville, Illinois, passed away at her home on April 11, 2024. Brittany was born on June 16, 1980, in Danville, Illinois to Matthew and Annette Smith. She married David Michael Counce Jr. on August 28, 2004.

Brittany was a vivacious individual. All who knew her would describe her as fun, charismatic, and carefree. She knew how to have a good time, and loved to sing, dance, and do karaoke. She also appreciated spending time in nature, and often drove out to Kickapoo to listen to music by the Middle Fork River or kayak on Clear Pond. She was an avid animal lover, especially of her beloved cat Leo, who she referred to as "me kitty."

In 2004, she graduated from DACC with an Associate Degree in Nursing and worked at the Polyclinic for a couple of years before transitioning into a nursing career at the VA. She loved to take care of people her patients, but especially her family and friends. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who love her.

Brittany is survived by both of her parents, Matthew and Annette Smith; her brother, Chase Smith; her husband, David Michael Counce Jr.; one daughter: Alexis Simmons; three sons: Marcell Simmons, Makai Counce, and Daden Counce; five stepsons: Jaren Counce, David (Debbie) Counce III, Iain Lyons, Lorenzo Counce, and Xavier (TaNiyah) Counce; along with seven grandkids.

Funeral services for Brittany will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N Vermilion Street, Danville, IL, 61834. Public visitation will begin at 3:00 PM and a memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Donations for Brittanys family can be made at this time. Brittanys family requests that if possible, attendees wear shades of green (her favorite color!) or other bright colors to celebrate her life.
