Bridget Anne (Sheehan) Holem was born April 5, 1953 and passed away on May 20, 2026 at her home in Danville, IL with her family by her side.
Bridget Anne Holem, loving wife, mother, sister, friend and nurse, passed from this life in her home, moments after receiving last rites, administered by Father John F. Cyr.
Born in Danville, Bridget was the third of eight children born to Daniel Joseph Sheehan II and Irene Miller Sheehan. She was a parishioner of St. Paul's Church, a student at St. Paul's Elementary School, Danville High School and Lake View College of Nursing with her BSN. She was employed by OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center and Veterans Administration Hospital.
Bridget married Jim Holem on March 3rd, 2000; they recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. Since Bridget's health declined, Jim has been her primary caregiver in their home.
Bridget was fun-loving, kind and made friends easily. She volunteered with the St. Paul's Church Altar and Rosary Society as well as asking parishioners to volunteer prepared food dishes for Celebration of Life gatherings at the Motsett Center after funeral services. Additionally, Bridget delivered Meals on Wheels and food items to the elderly. She had a loving, best friend relationship with her younger brother, Tim Sheehan.
Bridget is survived by her devoted husband Jim; children Nicholas Nakamura and son, Kenji; Brian (Jerrie) Neumann and children Braeden, Brylee and Jailee; Allison Neumann and children Lenyx and Jozlyn; children through marriage – Alan (Tracey) Holem and children Sophie and Vince; Tara Holmes and children Cidni and Courtland; sister, Kathy (Tom) Moony; brother, Timothy Sheehan.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026 at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Danville, Illinois, 1303 N Walnut Street, Danville, Illinois 61832. Father John Cyr will officiate. Cremation Rites will be accorded following Mass with Interment Rites scheduled at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery in Danville, IL. A Rosary Service will be held at 4:30 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2026 with Visitation to follow from 5-7:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion Street, Danville, Illinois 61834
