Brian M. Freeman

Brian M. Freeman, 59, of Veedersburg found the ultimate fishing hole on Monday, February 12, 2024 only moments after his family whispered in his ear to go catch the crappie and bluegill. He was born on December 30, 1964 to Robert and Phyllis [Wampler] Freeman in Danville, Illinois. They preceded him in death.

Brian attended North Vermilion High School for a couple of years before transferring to Fountain Central, where he would graduate with the Class of 83. He worked at Wabash National in Lafayette for several years before accepting a position at PepsiCo Quaker Oats. He held a few different job titles over the course of his 24 years with them. Brian was a devoted member of Sterling Christian Church.

Brian was a true outdoorsman; he loved to be outside in the woods especially if it meant he was fishing or hunting. He particularly looked forward to spending time up in the mountains of Colorado. A jack-of-all-trades, Brian was a handyman who could do it, and hardly ever did he have to call on outside help to get a job done. He would help anybody in any capacity he possibly could, oftentimes without even having to be asked and always expecting nothing in return. He made sure his family and friends were taken care of at all times, even if it meant he had to go out of his way. He leaves behind a legacy of love and he will be greatly missed by everyone lucky enough to have him in their lives.

Brian married Sharon Dunkerly on June 10, 1989 and together they shared many wonderful adventures before his passing. She survives. Also surviving are their children Summer (Dakoda Chapman) Freeman and Kale (Abigail Campbell) Freeman; his siblings Susan Freeman, Tony Freeman, and Lisa (John) Myers; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his Uncle Bill Freeman.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 11:00 am 3:00 pm EST at Sunset Funeral Homes DeVerter Chapel, located at 215 N. Division St. in Cayuga. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2023 at 5:30 pm EST at The Landing in Veedersburg. Fond memories and condolences can be shared with Brians family on his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com. The family kindly asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Brians memory to the Sterling Christian Church or to the Fairhaven Foundation in Indianapolis.
