Brian LeClaire

Brian Wade LeClaire of Cayuga, Indiana passed away on October 12, 2025 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Born June 13, 1959 in Danville, Illinois, he was the son of James and Norma LeClaire. He graduated from North Vermillion High School, Cayuga, Indiana in 1977. He attended Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis, Indiana focusing on machining.

Brian was employed with Duke Energy for over 30 years. He also served as an NRA member as well as a SAL commander for the Newport Legion Post 184.

Outside of work, Brian was a gun collector, he enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, morel mushrooming and fishing on the Wabash River. He was also a huge fan of classic rock, especially the bands: Led-Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Rush.

Brian is survived by his mother, Norma LeClaire; his two daughters: Amanda LeClaire (Andrew Hoopingarner) of Tilton, Illinois and Audrey (Andrew) Clawson of Dana, Indiana. He also leaves behind his granddaughters, Remi and Raegan Clawson of Dana, Indiana, and his sister Tamara Promaroli.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, James LeClaire.

Per his wishes, Brian was cremated, and his cremated remains will be buried at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, next to his father. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15th at the Cayuga American Legion from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm EST. The Eulogy will begin at 5:30 pm till 6:00 pm, with a dinner to follow. The band The Booe and the Bobz will play from 6:00 pm till 10:00 pm. Everyone is welcome. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian's name to the Cayuga American Legion or the Cayuga Presbyterian Church.
