Georgetown, IL. Brian Douglas "Doug" Howie, 65, of Georgetown, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at his residence.
He was born January 25, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky son of the late Earl and Eva (Schuler) Howie
He married Renee Gebhart on March 20, 2010, in Cayuga, Indiana, and she survives.
Also surviving are his siblings: Tony Howie, John Howie, Edith "Edie" Cook, Les Howie, Dwayne Howie, Tom Howie, Jerry Hickman, Linda Rakes, Robin Walsh and Michael E. Howie; and his best friend: Bobby Courtemanche
Along with his parents, Brian was preceded in death by two brothers: Ronnie Howie and Glenn Howie.
Brian was a 1976 graduate of Potomac High School and later went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy. Brian held many jobs over the years, but most recently was employed as a truck driver. He had a love for all animals but held a special place in his heart for his cats. In his spare time, he loved going fishing and talking about and riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He absolutely loved being the center of attention and tried to bring a smile to all those around him.
Per Brians wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services. A private burial will take place at the Danville National Cemetery at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
