Brenda Rangel

Brenda Rangel, 67, of Danville, IL passed away at 5:16 PM on July 3, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Brenda was born on April 19, 1959 the daughter of Jose and Guadalupe (Lopez) Hernandez in Weslaco, TX. She married Ever Rangel on January 14, 1978 in Pharr, TX and he survives.

Survivors include her husband, Ever Rangel, Sr of Danville, IL, her children, Antonio (Amy) Rangel of Lincoln, NE, Ever Rangel, Jr of McAllen, TX, Everlynn (Troy) Palmer of Plainfield, IN, Elizabeth (George) Hernandez, Griselda Garza, and Judy (Nathan) Murray, her grandchildren, Cyrena, Javier, Kailey, Shaylee, Riley, Owen, Jolene, and Otis, her great grandchildren Jayden and Jayson, as well as her siblings, Yolanda Hernandez, Joe Chapa, Lee Hernandez, Janie Gamino, Mary Diaz and Rosa Prado.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Jose Manuel Hernandez, Jose Luis Hernandez and Jane Chapa, son-in-law, Jesse Garza and one infant great grandchild, Isaiah Leo.

Brenda is a member of New Life Faith Church in Danville, IL and worked as a Translator and Teacher’s Aide for Danville Community School District #118. She enjoyed spending her free time reading her Bible and listening to worship music. Most of all, Brenda loved taking care of her home and her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Thomas Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at the funeral home.
