Brenda Faught

Mahomet - Brenda L. Faught, 64, of Mahomet passed away at 5:50 AM on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Champaign County Nursing and Rehab in Savoy. She was born on September 27, 1951 to Blanche Louise Sweedman. She married Michael Faught on March 17, 1968 in Decatur. He survives. Also surviving are two children, Shannon (Jerry) Dowdy of Argenta, IL, and Jeremy (Shannon) Faught of Argental, IL; seven grandchildren, Bailey and Michael Dowdy, Emily, April, and Mathew Hitchcock, and Ella and Olivia Faught; seven great-grandchildren, Kahlia, Marvell, Tyson, Lexxie, Jay'marlon, London, and Jameson; an aunt and uncle, Bill and Marion Dondeville; cousin, Betty Mixell; and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister, Pat Watts. Brenda had driven a school bus and kept books for Rolofson's Bus Service in Argenta, IL, but most recently served as the Ombudsman for the Navy Reserve Center in Decatur. She was dedicated to the armed forces and serviceman for whom she worked, and was especially supportive of her husband Mike during and after his service. Brenda was a member of the American Legion Post #1015 Auxiliary, the Argenta Baptist Church, and the Mahomet Christian Church, but especially loved spending time with her family. A Celebration of Brenda's life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites are being entrusted to Sunset's Champaign-Urbana Chapel. Memorials in her name may be made to the donor's choice.
